CATO Joins Hands with SCIES to Promote Ecological Environment Governance
After more than seven months of in-depth communication, research, and demonstration, and with the shared aspiration of improving the country's ecological environment governance, on October 26, Guangzhou CATO Research Chemicals Inc. and the South China Institute of Environmental Sciences (SCIES) of the Ministry of Ecology and Environment successfully joined hands to carry out joint development of environmental reference materials and established the "Joint Innovation Base for Environmental Reference Material R&D".
CATO Chairman Chen Zhidong and General Manager Feng Weizhao, together with SCIES Party Secretary Hu Kemei and Deputy Director Liu Xiaowen, signed the strategic cooperation agreement on behalf of both parties and unveiled the plaque of the "Joint Innovation Base for Environmental Reference Material R&D".

This strategic cooperation between SCIES and CATO fully leverages SCIES's technical capabilities in testing and value assignment and its professional advantages in environmental monitoring, together with CATO's capabilities in reference material production and preparation and its sales experience, forming complementary advantages and joint R&D, and adding solid technical strength to environmental science and environmental monitoring.
CATO Chairman Chen Zhidong said that CATO will actively promote all-round, in-depth cooperation with SCIES, jointly build "Chinese standards", ensure monitoring data is "authentic, accurate, and complete" with higher standards, and jointly safeguard the ecological environment.
SCIES Secretary Hu Kemei pointed out that the cooperation between the two parties and the establishment of the innovation base are of great strategic significance. She hoped the two sides would complement each other, form a strong "preparation + value assignment" alliance, achieve breakthroughs and build a brand in the field of environmental reference material research, play an important role in the innovation of environmental reference material R&D in China, and provide important scientific and technological support for environmental monitoring and supervision.
Director Xie Danping introduces the first batch of environmental reference material R&D list
Director Xie Danping of SCIES released and introduced the first batch of environmental reference materials planned for joint development, comprising 37 reference materials in 10 categories, most of which are very important in environmental testing and currently unavailable domestically.

At the meeting, Secretary Hu solemnly announced: "The strategic cooperation between SCIES and CATO for the joint R&D of environmental reference materials is officially launched."
Finally, the two parties conducted in-depth discussions on how to advance the joint R&D of reference materials. It is believed that the signing of this strategic cooperation agreement will further promote in-depth cooperation between the two parties in the industry-academia-research-application of environmental reference materials and in environmental reference material research, help accelerate the construction of a modern ecological environment monitoring technology system and industrial system, and implement the spirit of the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China through practical actions, fulfilling the mission of building a Beautiful China.
