CATO Participates in Drafting New National Standard GB/T 32440.1-2023 for Footwear, Officially Released
On December 28, 2023, the standard Footwear — Chemical Test Methods — Determination of Phthalates — Part 1: Solvent Extraction Method, drafted with the participation of CATO, was officially released and will take effect on July 1, 2024. This standard will fully replace GB/T 32440-2015, Footwear — Determination of Phthalates in Restricted Substances Present in Footwear and Footwear Components.

This new national standard specifies the chemical test method for phthalates in footwear products, with particular emphasis on a detailed description of the solvent extraction method.
